Thank you Christyl; you are so full of loving kindness I am overwhelmed. The impeachment, the virus in China, flash flooding in the aftermath of Australian fires; the news is the cause of so much angst. It’s hard to stay grounded. I’m taking your advice again. You give such sound advice.

I agree with what you said about re-traumatising myself. In response, I’m taking a handful of days off news and social media to be with my mum in hospital. It’ll be easy to go cold turkey while staying with my dad as he has no Internet connection.

I will turn off my phone.

I don’t need to know what is going on anywhere else.

I’m resisting temptation to watch TV news or listen to radio.

I’m spending time with the most important woman in my world.

My world will be my mum and dad, brother and sister-in-law for a bit.

Going old-fashioned, I am taking a journal that’s comfortable to hand-write in, a stack of sharp pencils and smooth flowing blue ink pens. I may fill up the creamy wide-lined pages with words; words to read out to those who first loved me best of all.

Thank you again Christyl, you’re an inspiration.
