Oh help
the persecuted
unjustifiably detained
displaced, disrespected
locked up, hurt, mistreated
the black lives that do matter
our Indigenous first nations people
ethnic minorities pushed to perimeters
unheard, unemployed and unfairly treated
hear their cries, feel their anguish and let them live
keep them safe from Covid-19, mask and protect them now
risking lives as they rally, risking the rage of police and politicians
may barbed wires and white walls of systematic racial abuse collapse
cleanse our eyes so we can clearly see the shame of centuries
let those long disregarded be well regarded
vital and valued for their contributions
all of them to say now I can breathe
no more deaths in custody
but peace of the streets
set aside skin colour
save your people
let justice start
end brutality
in humanity
please help
us change
oh God
