Oh, Laura, this is too sad. All that you went through and endured and struggled with made me weep. When I’m sad, I don’t know what to say without sounding saccharine. I wrote you a poem instead. It’s called Circling.

This Point of View you’ve given from the victim’s perspective is all new to me. Thank you for that. It is so heartfelt and wrenching, I can’t seem to forget the words detailing what you went through.

I hope you have long healed and feel strong and confident that no one can ever reduce your humanity to such lows ever again.

All the rings you circled

all the rungs you climbed

all the brittle eggshells

you didn’t crush underfoot

all the fiery hoops

you jumped in

and out

and through.

Shore up

your self-worth

Laura-

you are infinitely

embraceable

livewithable

lovable
