Heart in the Web

Author photos of a spider web at the very bottom of my garden.

Can you see it?

It’s there.

I saw it.

A shiny heart in a frosted dawn,

surrounded by diamond lace.

A heart

at the centre

of the spider’s web.

Out walking,

gazing at

Cypress Pines

glistening with

morning dew,

I noticed

the heart.

A little misshapen,

a little clipped,

fragile,

fractured,

and imperfect,

like all hearts are.

But there,

still there,

distinctly there.

Hard to see,

thin threads

of gossamer,

sway in the breeze.

Winter sun

will soon dry

the web,

robbing us

of magic gems,

beads of dewy

jewels,

sparkling,

spreading,

radiating

around the heart.

Can you see it yet;

this heart

that’s barely there?

Do you want to know it?

Can you feel it

pounding out life?

There is

a clear heart

beating time

at the centre of

a warming globe,

a climate change earth;

also at the centre of us.

There is heart

at the centre

of nature,

of everyone,

every place,

every creature,

of making

every

necessary

change

a reality.

Mist in the valley of my farm.

Let our heart shine.

Let our hearts show love and care for our earth.
