Getting Out, Going Places

Stuck
at home
for too long
makes you itch
to go somewhere
a deep, dark forest
back out into nature
some secret location
with a ceiling of blue sky
with cliffs instead of walls
clear water trickling over rocks
green grass in a long, cool valley
a place where trees hug the mountains
and cotton wool clouds drift and reshape
with time to breathe and take in the atmosphere
to be released from cabin fever to contemplate life
to forget your worries and go walking where you want
to relax and get out of the oppressive coronavirus head space
there’s no better gift for the soul than getting out and going places
even if the adventure is only a whimsical journey of your imagination
